Foods You Eat That Threatens Your Libido. No. 8 Will Shock You!

The foods you eat directly or indirectly have a way of stimulating your sex life. These can be influenced by the Testosterone – the male hormone – and the Estrogen – the female hormone.
Actually, both the testosterone and the estrogen play vital roles in our bodies. Indeed men can grow breasts while women can sprout excessive facial hair. But in these cases, an imbalance of testosterone and estrogen can increase or decrease libido.

Therefore, some of the food items which could serve as contributing factors to a flowing sex life are listed below.

1. Processed foods:
When foods are processed, one or more of the nutrients are removed in whole foods including ones that are even important to your desire for a flavoured sex life. A very good example is, when wheat is processed into white flour, it loses about three-quarters of its zinc, a mineral that is essential to men's sexuality and reproduction.

2. Marijuana:
Cannabis is already legalised in several countries and could soon be legal all over the world. Most people add the drug to foods they eat. Whether you smoke it or eat it, marijuana depresses the testosterone levels for about 24 hours which is a threat to your libido.

3. Alcohol:
One glass of wine or even a cup of cocktail can get you in the mood, but if you drink much more than that, your libido will surely pay the price later. Alcohol is a depressant that can cause damage to a man’s ability to achieve and maintain an erection and even dampen libido for both sexes. Play nice when it comes to alcohol and you may find that you resuscitate your sexual sparkle.

4. Soybeans:
High levels of soy in a woman’s body can decrease sex hormones and disrupt her ovarian function. Also, just a half serving of soy per day was enough to slash sperm count by 40 percent in healthy males.

5. Cheese:
Much of the cheese consumed is derived from cow milk and is loaded with synthetic hormones which could potentially toy with your body’s natural production of hormones including estrogen and testosterone thereby affecting the normal sex life.

6. Sugar:
Sugar, though sweet has its own disadvantages as well. It increases the levels of the hormone insulin, which can cause you to have belly fat, lose muscle mass and causing your testosterone levels to drop drastically. In men, belly fat raises estrogen levels, which of course can result in low libido and erectile dysfunction. Making an effort to get rid of the amount of sugar you consume, could be just all there is to have the best sexual drive ever.

7. Mint:
Fresh breath is unarguably sexy, and mint is the fresh-breath maker. But the menthol in mint lowers the testosterone levels.

8. Bottled water:
In this case, the water is not the culprit here but the plastic bottle. Bisphenol A, commonly referred to as BPA, is a chemical component found in most plastic food containers and cans and is associated with negative impacts on fertility in both men and women.

9. Spiced Foods:
Heavily scented or spiced foods have a great potential to change the way your vagina smells and tastes. These foods and drinks include coffee, onions, garlic and strong spices. Eliminating these foods and eating more whole grains, fruits and vegetables might yield a milder scent and support more mouth to mouth resuscitation.

10. Coffee:
If you’re someone who gets jittery or anxious from coffee, it may leave you wallowing to succeed in your sex life. This is because increased anxiety can often lower your sex drive. It’s a frequent complaint of people with sensitivity to caffeine.

11. Chocolate:
Dark chocolate is believed to be an aphrodisiac because it stimulates feelings of euphoria and love, but some chocolate has also been shown to suppress testosterone levels.

12. Medicines:

Although this isn’t a kind of food, but since it is consumed, it has to be on the list. Antidepressants and some other medications like birth control can interrupt how your body produces and manages hormones like serotonin, epinephrine, and dopamine, which all influence your sex drive. Talk to your doctor if you are afraid your pills might be a risk to your sex drive.
